The Mount Vernon Chili Cookoff returns to historic Uptown Mount Vernon, Iowa, on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Teams cook their chili on-site from 11 a.m., and the public tastes and votes from 3 p.m., with a bags tournament, a beer-stein-holding contest, live radio and cash prizes for the winning teams.
